We recommend changing your filters every 6 months. If you live in a home with pets or people who suffer from allergies, you may need to change your filters more frequently. Factors like how often you run your HVAC system, outside air conditions, how often you clean your home, and the age of your home will all impact filter lifespan.
Remove your filter and hold it up to a lightbulb. If you can still see light through it, the filter is still good. Our graduated density media means the filter may look dirty while positioned in the unit. When put up to a light, though, you can easily see if it’s still promoting airflow.
The back of the filter says “downstream” on it. The downstream side is where the air exits the filter, and that’s the side that should be facing your AC unit.
